A 2007 Super Deluxe Revue with Toby Radloff

For some odd reason, he’s been the most popular person on the blog lately. So, when the “Genuine Nerd” announced that he would graciously provide us with a few year-in-review videos, who were we to deny him? For your meta-viewing pleasure, we present Toby Radloff watching and discussing some of his favorite Super Deluxe videos of the year (just in case you didn’t feel like watching them yourself and forming your own opinions).

The Name Dropper: Jonah Hill, Brad Neely, Maria Bamford…

Name Drop #1: Jonah Hill
Remember a few months ago when Super Deluxe had those REEEEALLY annoying pop-up ads on our homepage for SuperBad? Michael Cera, Jonah Hill and the kid who played McLovin would magically appear in the bottom right-hand corner of your monitor and implore you to “Go see SuperBad…Bad…”

Well, look who’s popping up now in Tim And Eric Nite Live!

jonah-hill.png

That’s Jonah Hill (as some of you astutely observed). He claimed to be a T&E fanatic by the name of Pat Horse in last week’s episode. But we’ve studied the footage for a week now, and we’re pretty sure it’s Jonah.

Professor Brothers Microsite “Unquestionably The Funniest Thing On The Internet Right Now?”

What’s this? Who said that? These guys?

new-york-post.png

Yes, that’s right. One of America’s oldest and biggest newspapers has decreed Brad Neely’s beloved creations to be funnier than anything else in Cyberland right now, including Will Farrell’s new “The Landlord 13: Pearl Is Just A Fucking Baby” video. Read the review for yourself RIGHT HERE.

Now, about this microsite: it’s located off of our homepage and it looks like this (except bigger):

microsite-bra.png

Notice how saturated in Professor Brothers goodness it is. That’s the whole point. It’s all part of our new campaign to proselytize Frank and Steve to the world at large. For the uninitiated, it makes for a spiffy introduction to their manic rants. For the already devoted, there’s special goodies to snack on like:

Secret insider secrets about Brad Neely
Free MP3 and lyrics of the JFK rap
Free desktop wallpapers
Free Stallone Cuts

Do you even know what a Stallone Cut is, little dog? It’s a pile of ugly meat. Veins of tangy mayo. And drawn tightly over it all is a thin skin of sweaty, pinkish cheese. Like this:

(It’s also some weird food item in the new Prof. Bros. that’s already on the site even though its “official debut” isn’t until this Thursday.)

Entertainment Weekly: Addicted To Derek & Simon Like A Bunch Of Crackheads

Look, they admitted it. They “must” watch Bob Odenkirk’s Derek & Simon. How do we know? Because they published THIS in their magazine…

ew-odenkirk.png

Confidentially, methinks EW may be trying to butter us up (for some as-yet-to-be-determined reason), because they also gave the new Dinosaur Jr. a nice lil’ review.

Hmm.

OK, now you should watch the new D&S episode. Not only does Odenkirk star in it, but so does the lovely Busy Philipps.

Bragging On Kurt & Kristen

Looks like the word’s getting out about one of our favorite new series, Penelope: Princess of Pets. And rightfully so. We knew NYC comedy darlings Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal were on to something when they said they were doing a show about a girl who can talk to animals. And wants to kill a U.S. senator. And has a hard-drinking bird named Ruby. And um… just watch it already.

Anywho, New York magazine has officially located Penelope on its weekly cultural radar thingy called the Approval Matrix.

new-york-small.png

That’s a bit small, but if you look down in the southern-most area of the “Brilliant/Lowbrow” quadrant (right next to Ryan Gosling!), you’ll notice…

new-york-big.png

OK. That’s a bit fuzzy. But you get the idea.

Also, check out Kurt and Kristen’s Web site, Hot Tub, for more wet fun.
