Where does this guy find the time? First came the good news about his reunion with Bob Odenkirk on a new HBO pilot. And now we find out that he’s playing percussion and rapping in a hot, new folk act called Hannah’s Field. Check it. The track’s called “Puff, Puff, Give” and it’s got a groove for the body and a message for the mind.*
Questions abound: who shot this? Where was it filmed? And how strange is it that Bob Odenkirk got his hands on it right after the release of his recent President’s Day documentary, The Truth About Lincoln?
Also, isn’t it strange how this footage seems to resemble that famous scene from Frankenstein?
Not a whole hell of a lot. Except that FRUMONDAH SODA, THE TASTE FROM AFRICA sure is a delicious beverage. Why, even Nigerian president Umaru Yar’Adua loves it. Check out these photos and captions from the Asociateted Press:

“Not only is FRUMONDAH a taste from Africa. It is THE TASTE FROM AFRICA!!” declared Yar’Adua at the African Union Summit.

“Just look at this easy-to-carry bottle. You can hold it sideways and it doesn’t spill,” the Nigerian president pointed out.

“I just like to kiss the bottle cap sometimes. For good luck,” Yar’Ardua added before he condemned the violence in the Congo.
Pretty neat, huh? Guess Bob Odenkirk and Leon & Andy’s little viral video experiment worked. For the uninitiated, they made a phony short called Bird Poops In Mouth. It went into a viral spiral all over the Interwebs. Then, exactly one week ago, we revealed that it was indeed a staged incident–a teaser, if you will–meant to draw viewers into a much longer advertisement for FRUMONDAH SODA.
Now, aside from President Yar’Ardua’s glowing comments, we don’t yet have any hard data to support just how beneficial this has all been for FRUMONDAH SODA in terms of sales. But we do know what we’ve learned about the video that begat this whole pile of…um…poop.
Just on YouTube alone, Bird Poops In Mouth has racked up well over a million views as well as a list of YouTube honors including the much-coveted Top Rated “Pets & Animals” video for last month.
Elsewhere online, Bird Poops In Mouth has been featured on the Huffington Post, LiveLeak, Viral Video Chart, AOL Video Blog, MetaFilter, Blogspot, Digg, AOL Video, MySpace Video, Reddit, Milk And Cookies, EbaumsWorld, Break, Yahoo Video, The Onion, Gawker, College Humor, Comedy Central Insider, Hot Air, Word Press, Revver, Fark, IFilm, Technorati, TV Guide, Best Week Ever, Wired, Esquire and Laughing Squid.
It also made it on several TV shows including CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, E!’s The Soup, and Sirius Radio’s The Howard Stern Show. G4’s Attack Of The Show not only featured Bird Poops In Mouth, they also went through the trouble to enact this moving tribute. Thanks, guys.
Of course, Bird Poops In Mouth couldn’t have garnered its 15 seconds of Internet glory without a few requisite response videos. Here are our favorites:
2 Birds 1 Reporter Reaction–Either this guy really does have the weakest stomach ever or somebody is playing audio tricks.
Reporter’s Scoop get Bird Poop in the Mouth! Very Funny!–It seems one fake reporter’s misfortune is another ringtone company’s…um…advertisement?
Re: Bird Poops In Mouth–Meet the Internet Fonzee. He’s oddly compelled to post a response video, but too cool to actually do anything in it (except where sunglasses and smoke a cigarette).
Finally…
Reaction To Bird Poops In Mouth Starring Paul Hu–The blog’s very own man-on-the-street star, Paul Hu. We came, he saw, he out-pooped us.
Enough said.
Specifically, the one that got all big on the Internets over the last few days that shows a Channel 7 Action News reporter catching a big turd in his mouth from a Canadian brown finch? Looks kind of like this…
Or maybe we should rephrase that question: have you seen any good bird poop videos lately that show what appears to be a Channel 7 Action News reporter catching a big turd in his mouth from a Canadian brown finch but, in turn, reveals itself to be an elaborate advertisement brought to you by our very own Bob Odenkirk and Leon & Andy for Nigerian Sunshine International’s most delicious soda, FRUMONDAH©! Looks kind of like this…
We gotta say, Bob and Leon & Andy sure went out on a limb with this one, but we really believe it’s worth it. Have you tasted FRUMONDAH© soda yet? We’re so hooked on THE TASTE FROM AFRICA©, we’ve decorated our home page with it. Why, it’s soda. It’s sunshine. It’s yellow AND it’s good time. Oh, and it looks kind of like this…
Tuesday nights just haven’t been the same since Tim and Eric went on their winter break. Every week, 10 p.m. EST rolls around and we just sit and stare at their live page, wondering when they’ll return.
Actually, it says it right there on the page: “We’ll Be Back January 29th.”
So, that takes care of that. In the meantime, we thought we’d put together this star-studded highlights reel from the first six Tim And Eric Nite Live’s to hold you over. Super-mega-celebrities include Zach Galifianakis, Fred Armisen, Bob Odenkirk, Will Forte, Brody Stevens and Jonah Hill.
Our usual blogger, El Douche A is on vacation in Nicaragua, probably walking around in flip-flops, stoned out of his mind on some dog-shit local weed, like the filthy hippie that he is.
So, I’m stepping in today with one of those “hey-check-out-this-thing” blogs.
Without further ado…
Check out this Tim and Eric video featuring Bob Odenkirk…
Also… Don’t forget to tune in tonight at 10PM Eastern/7PM Pacific to watch Tim and Eric Nite Live.
Thank you, Mr. Odenkirk. We were just about to dictate a spontaneous IM chat to our interns to be sent to Tim and Eric’s agents, requesting an interview about their new live talk show on Super Deluxe, TIM AND ERIC NITE LIVE, premiering November 6th at 10 p.m. Eastern, when lo and behold, we discovered that you beat us to the punch.
The following tete-a-tete-a-tete is exactly as Bob typed it on www.bobanddavid.com. Enjoy!
E: hey bob
t hey, how’s it going
b Good, you guys
t we’re doing good.
(they check out the new site and compliment me on it)
Tell me about T & E nitelive…
T: It’s uhm, it’s really gonna be live, what you see on line is what’s really happening in the studio. We’re not thinking about it too much, planning it the day of the show.
E: It’s really going to give us a chance to talk about ehings we love,. The first episode is going to be all about Papa Johns pizza and the kind of dips they offer.
T: We’re going to do as much free advertising for large corporations as possible
B: isn it amazing that some people didn’t get Shrek?
E: it was quite amazing, alot of our fans didn’t get it either…
T: I get people not getting the 1st or 2nd, but…
E: But after all the ads for shrek, you just have to get it
T: If I was more cynical I thnk I might have thought this was legitimate, like this was some guerrilla marketing campaign.
B: Who are some of the guests going to be on NITELIVE?
E: most of the time it’s going to be guests from “Awesome Show”. Our first night the musical guest is David Liebe Hart and Richard Dunn is also a guest
T: Richard Dunn has a beard now and will be shaving his beard live…
B: This kind of reminds me of Andy Kaufman a little, but not with the creepy aspect of trying to figure out what kind of “statement” is being made…
T: Also a little of the first season of letterman, where it really was “anything goes”
B: How long is the show?
T: The show is supposed to be 3 minutes.
E: We did a test last week and it was 20 and we still didn’t hit all the material we wanted to do…
T: It’s probably going to be half hour.. 15 minutes to half hour.
B: You will be doing this while you’re doing Awesome Show. Alot of work, right?
E: It is a lot of work, but we are going to try to incorporate “AWESOME” into NITELIVE.
T: it’s for people who like our show, so…if you don’t like AWESOME you probably won’t be into NITELIVE
B: I just want to say it is the tv show I am most excited about, outside of the show David and I just wrote for HBO.
T: We’re really trying not to overthink it…
E: and the fun part is you can skype us in and talk to us via webcam…
B: I use Skype. I talk to the Straitjacket guys in England on it.
T: Do you ever use the Webcam?
B: No. One last thing in this extensive interivew. Tell me about TIMANDERIC LIVE in Vegas.
E: It’s going to be our ultimate live show. See some T&E bits we did on our live tour, also a lot of people you’ve seen on our show and you will see them live.
B: It’s for hbo…somehow?
E: Yeah, it’s at Ceasers palace.
B: How much are tickets?
T: It is a little expensive. It’s way too expensive for the show you’ll get.
E: But the neat thing is, the night before, on the 14th they are doing a big party for Awesome show, and fans can come. It’s at Ceaser’s Palace at 8 oclock, totally free.
Bob: Thanks guys, for my first and last interview.
(I thought it would be cool and easy to talk to the guys and just type it right into the site. It sucked and they had to keep stopping to let me type. I won’t ever do this again…hope you liked it)
Bob Odenkirk is a-blogging again. This time he’s explaining about all the projects he’s juggling right now, including a lil’ something for Super Deluxe.
Andrea Rosen talks to The Apiary about her dad, the “hippie who fled to New Mexico.”
And Jim Norton chats with Dead Frog about his HBO special that premiered Saturday night and alcoholism!
Good morning, Sunshine. Feeling a little blobbish today? How about a few more questions?
Did you leave the house last night? If so, did you go see Bob Odenkirk’s new movie, The Brothers Solomon? If not, are you ready to watch Bob Odenkirk pitch a movie to a greased-up, fake-tanned, short-attention-spanned version of himself? One that looks like this…
Good. Because Mr. Odenkirk is taking a break from Comedy By The Numbers duties on Wednesday and premiering Bob Pitches A Movie on ye olde homepage.
Do you have basic cable? If so, did you watch the premiere of Adult Swim’s Lucy, Daughter Of The Devil last night? If not, you can watch it here. The reason we’re asking is because it’s funny. And it was created by the co-creator of Home Movies. And it stars Jon Benjamin (whose Super Deluxe premiere is imminent), Toddy Barry (ditto) and Eugene Mirman (who already works with us; duh).
Finally, do you have HBO? If so, did you watch the Curb Your Enthusiasm season premiere? Just checking. Don’t really have anything additional to say about it, except it’s called “Meet The Blacks.”
People of the Internets, what will you be doing this weekend? Something fun? Something novel? Something like beer-bonging out of half a Mountain Dew bottle in your bestest home girl’s kitchen?
That’s fine. We’re not judging. We’ll just be busy dreaming–dreaming of all the new videos that will be debuting next week. Like Mr. Brad Neely’s latest Professor Brothers. It’s the first episode in a new mini-series for Frank and Steve. For no apparent reason, they’ve dropped the class syllabus all together and are now conducting movie lectures. Seriously, Brad would hate it if he read this, but this new stuff is approaching levels of brilliance and absurdity that make us wish we were his little man-pups. Little man-pups who don’t need flesh on their jaws.
OK! Speaking of smarty pants, here’s a real brain trust: on the heels of the final (for now) Derek & Simon episode, Bob Odenkirk will be premiering his newest series, Comedy By The Numbers, which is the video version of the recent McSweeney’s book. That’s two Mensa-approved institutions of comedy in one. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that these two bald professors will be the instructors…
And in case you’re a pink-o communist who needs reminding about the truly important days of observation in America, next Thursday is the 30th anniversary of Elvis‘ great passing into the wild, blue yonder. In honor of the King’s grandest movement, comedy duo Hard ‘N’ Phirm have created a lovely commemorative video for their Super Deluxe debut. It’s all part of a series they’re doing about a make-believe partnership between country music television and public broadcasting called CPBS.
