Brad Neely Versus His Friends

Maybe we’ve gotten a bit possessive, but we hate to fathom Baby Cakes and the Professor Brothers involved in some kind of hyped-up cock fight or whatever.

So, who are the heartless bastards that came up with this crudely drawn competition between Brad Neely’s creations? Brad Neely and his friends.

Recently, when we were forcing Brad to do director’s commentary for our Inside The Artist series, he told us about how he and a former co-worker used to while away the workday coming up with fantasy face-offs between various comic book heroes. They’d end up drawing boxing poster-style pictures of the opposing characters, and then signing off on which one they’d pick to win the fight. Other friends of theirs joined in, and it soon became a blog called Versus.

The site is a treasure of trove of absurdist inside jokes. Many of the proposed fights involve super heroes…

…but there’s also matches between musicians and movie characters…

…as well as historical figures and forces of nature.

(We couldn’t help but notice that Brad always seems to pick whatever character is on the left side of the fight bill. Hmmm.)

The Toilet Giveth And Taketh Away

Bobby Tisdale is trying to break our hearts. And it’s pretty amusing.

The New York comedian has recently blogged about what has to be the shittiest day of his life, complete with abdominal cramps, cat crap, and a drowned cell phone. Click here for all the bittersweet details.

Best Week Ever Blog + Super Deluxe Blog = Best Super Deluxe Blog Ever!

We’ve hit the blog big time, people! And we couldn’t be more honored. Everybody’s favorite pop culture catch-all blog, Best Week Ever, has inducted us into their prestigious cadre of Inter-Web scribblers and Photoshoppers known as B.A.N. — the Blogger Action Network!!

picture-2.png

What does this mean exactly? It means that VH1 has agreed to get the Sklar Brothers to mention us in the “I Love The 00’s” episode about failed Internet 2.0 sites. It also means that the Best Week Ever blog will start featuring posts from us every so often. We’ll be joining forces with a veritable United Nations of bloggers (Comedy Central Insider, Goldenfiddle, Stereogum, etc.) that regularly contribute to the pop culture monolith that is Best Week Ever.

Sounds fun, right? It will be. Yay!

Now go see Superbad and have a good weeked.

What’s Next: Standrea, Super Deluxe “Stop Snitching” Campaign, Killer Mike!

OK, we want to make this quick because we can’t quite put our fingers on it, but something has been telling us to go camp out at the Superbad premiere tonight. Hmmmmmmm.

Anyways, next week Variety Shac’s Andrea Rosen will be premiering her new series, Standrea. Let us do the math for you: that’s Stan (her “husband”) plus Andrea! And if a parody of a smarmy New York couple and their self-aggrandizing Weblog sounds like something you’d like in your life, then let it be so.

Also next week, alert the presses!! Because Super Deluxe is weighing in on this whole “snitching” thing. Comedy By The Numbers is debuting a special anti-snitching video aimed at squashing all of these crazy beefs in the comedy world.

And after much ado, rapper Killer Mike’s new series will premiere. It’s called Killer Mike’s Grind Time Sports Show Bang! Bang! Bang!, but pretty much any issue in black culture is open for discussion. Like “snitching.” That’s the hot topic in the first episode. And might we say, we’re particularly proud of this new series because it’s an in-house production brought to life by our very own Daniel and Nick Weidenfeld.

So, stop snitching!!

A true cyber waste

Hello again, future people. Hope you all had a good weekend. We’re all moving a little slower than usual here at SDHQ on account of too much rock n’ roll (Crampaw said I’m a p**sy) at Corndogorama, so today, this seems like a pretty good cyber idea for “carny food.” Much more to come on our escapades at Corndogorama.

Here’s an example of a bad cyber idea, entertaining as it may be..

BTW: He’s got an e-auction of the blended iPhone up for charity. Not such a cyber waste after all.

Holy Douchebags!!

Bust out the cheap cocaine and track suits! Because things just got a whole lot more douchier for one of our favorite blogs, Hot Chicks With Douchebags. Seems the chronicle of all things frosted on the tip and greased up in the club has landed a book deal.

Praise be the Axe body sprayed gods!! We’re just giddy with Red Bull and vodka-fueled excitement about soon having this kind of thing in print…
