Some say it’s been played out. But we say you can never play enough of the keytar. Back in the early ’80s, DEVO had the foresight to cast the gloriously dorky guitar-keyboard Frankenstein in their ground-breaking video, Whip It, to great comic effect. And ever since, funny-making people have been lining up to do the same. So, to put this now thoroughly established comic prop in its proper perspective, we’re going to count down our Top 10 Favorite Keytar scenes ever, from Borat to Blades Of Glory to Flight Of The Conchords and everything in between.

10. Honor Student’s Chasing Donovan: Keytar

What did you expect? Jan Hammer? We had to kick this list off with one of our own. David Neher and Honor Student truly know how to harness the raw sexual power of the keytar in the latest episode of their Chasing Donovan series. And they’re not afraid to use fartz either.
