Bittersweet does not begin to express the salty yet sugary mixture of emotion we’re filled with today. Perhaps the word should be “assgold?” Or “deathlifey?”
Whatever it is, it is only a word and cannot possibly characterize the true sadness we feel about having to premiere the final installment of The Maria Bamford Show. Yes, it’s true. After 20 webisodes, Maria’s saga about having a nervous breakdown, moving back home with her parents in Duluth, Minnesota and having to fit her Hollywood anxieties into small town America has come to an end. See for yourself if you didn’t watch it on the home page. We can’t bear to again.
Just like that, she’s walked out of our lives. And we, Super Deluxe, are the poorer for that. But, as alluded to before, there is a “sweet” side to this bitterness. What is it the Christians say? They always seem to have an axiom fit for occasions like this. Ah, yes…

That’s right. While it seems God has slammed shut the proverbial door on Maria, he has gracefully blown open a window for her lil’ sidekick, Blossom! You know, the pet pug? Yes, the dog is getting its own show right here on Super Deluxe. We’re talking about a good, ol’ fashioned spinoff series complete with wacky neighbors and other “talking” animals. That’s about all we can divulge of the plot points at this time, but Maria’s people do want us to get the title out there. For the fans. So, here it is…
Well, we guess that’s it. The only thing left to say is, so long and good luck, Maria! Hello, Blossom!
