Paul F. Tompkins At MAKE FUNNY NOT WAR

Paul had the much-coveted 1:30 A.M. slot, which he made the most of with his signature aplomb. Then, he set his sights on us, the Super Deluxe camera operators.

Look How Much Fun You Didn’t Have

Super Deluxe’s SXSW contingent are back in the office and talking my ear off about their amazing time last week and how many pseudo-celebs they had pseudo conversations with. They’ve forced me to sit through their vacation photos, and in the interest of bringing reader and author closer together, I decided to take you along on the same journey so you too can bathe in the “wish I was there” bitterness.

SxSW Decompression, Pt. 1

Some of us are back in Atlanta after a whirlwind adventure at SxSW. We saw a cornucopia of bands, put on two wildly successful parties, hung out with tons of new and old friends, ate beef at all three meals on Saturday, and learned that a band which primarily sings about partying probably isn’t going to be very responsible about video-shoot schedules. And our ears are still ringing. Hard.

While we organize our thoughts—a round-up of all of the bands I caught is forthcoming—and our videos of The Sword, Clipse, X, Duke Spirit, Municipal Waste and Saul Williams are edited down for your enjoyment, we want to give a shout-out to all the folks who worked so hard (both in Austin and Atlanta) to make it all possible.

See you next year, Austin!

PS: Not even Slayer can save shitty pizza.
