Going Gonzo At South By

There was no way I was going to let it happen. Sure, El Douche A and the Senatorturer are going to cover South By Southwest from very their own salvia-skewed perspectives, but there was no way I was going to let those boys have all the fun.

Let me explain: I’ve been coming to SxSW since before I was legal to drink (and Lord Satan knows, that was a while back), so perhaps there’s a little bit of entitlement being felt here. I’ve been there, done that, watched it perform a killer set, eaten it covered with Iron Works sauce and made out with it AND its brother - so I will call it “South By” if it damn well pleases me.

But I digress. So while the guys are providing the majority of the Lost In Austin dispatches, expect an interjection or two from me about the heavy metal bands in attendance, the dudes (No recollection of name? No problem!) and all the collective awesomeness that makes South by Southwest one of the most exciting destinations on Earth for a media whore like me.

And just because it’s how I roll… I started the party early by catching the Air Raid show on Tuesday night. Co-headlined by the D.R.I.-worshipping Municipal Waste and Midwestern punk legends, Naked Raygun, the event was a packed, smelly affair full of Shiner Bocks and stage diving.
