Huckabee fans, restrain thyselves from too much snake handling or whatever it is you do to celebrate. Because, mark our words, Mr. 9/11 is still very much in the race, and he’s still shameless enough to produce what could be the funniest/scariest campaign ad since LBJ’s* infamous “Daisy Girl” spot from 1964.

This campaign ad truly disturbs me.
Rudy is out of touch. His propagandist style of campaigning, using simple catch phrases like “The Terrorists War on Us,” “Twelve Committments to the People”and 9/11 hearken back to the propagandist style of the fascists and communists. In combination with his overt scare tactics such as this ad, they are so blatant who but the most media illiterate of us can’t see through them. THey’re getting old and tired. He has nothing else to say. And when people ask him about policy ideas (foreign, educational, immigration), they too sound simplistic and false. Yawn.
His style of campaigning (ignoring the early states, this scare tactic, propaganda stuff) points to a cynicism about the electorate that disturbs me; either he has become stupid, or he thinks the American electorate is stupid, or both.
