Dragon*Conned

What can we say? We’ve always been into space crap, 20-sided dice and software developers who come to Atlanta once a year in tights and make-up and openly revel in their adolescent man-crushes on comic book characters.

Oh, and Darth Vader bikini models. They’re nice, too.

This year’s Dragon*Con was everything we thought it would be. Highlights included:

1. The opening parade (there’s nothing quite like seeing an army of Stormtroopers stopping traffic in downtown Atlanta preceded by Erik Estrada on a motorcycle).
2. Hanging out with the Fark TV guys and Lance Myers.
3. Meeting Michael Winslow, the “Man of 10,000 Sound Effects” from the Police Academy movies.
4. Sneaking into a Dragon*Con afterparty and realizing there is such a thing as the “beautiful people” of the fantasy/sci-fi convention circuit.
5. Asking a Chewbacca French maid if she had a special message for everybody and her replying, “It’s hot in here.”

Indeed. Here’s the first chunk of our Dragon*Con adventure from our podcast. There’s plenty more to come.
