The Toilet Giveth And Taketh Away

Bobby Tisdale is trying to break our hearts. And it’s pretty amusing.

The New York comedian has recently blogged about what has to be the shittiest day of his life, complete with abdominal cramps, cat crap, and a drowned cell phone. Click here for all the bittersweet details.

Best Week Ever Blog + Super Deluxe Blog = Best Super Deluxe Blog Ever!

We’ve hit the blog big time, people! And we couldn’t be more honored. Everybody’s favorite pop culture catch-all blog, Best Week Ever, has inducted us into their prestigious cadre of Inter-Web scribblers and Photoshoppers known as B.A.N. — the Blogger Action Network!!

picture-2.png

What does this mean exactly? It means that VH1 has agreed to get the Sklar Brothers to mention us in the “I Love The 00’s” episode about failed Internet 2.0 sites. It also means that the Best Week Ever blog will start featuring posts from us every so often. We’ll be joining forces with a veritable United Nations of bloggers (Comedy Central Insider, Goldenfiddle, Stereogum, etc.) that regularly contribute to the pop culture monolith that is Best Week Ever.

Sounds fun, right? It will be. Yay!

Now go see Superbad and have a good weeked.

What’s Next: Standrea, Super Deluxe “Stop Snitching” Campaign, Killer Mike!

OK, we want to make this quick because we can’t quite put our fingers on it, but something has been telling us to go camp out at the Superbad premiere tonight. Hmmmmmmm.

superbad-pic.png

Anyways, next week Variety Shac’s Andrea Rosen will be premiering her new series, Standrea. Let us do the math for you: that’s Stan (her “husband”) plus Andrea! And if a parody of a smarmy New York couple and their self-aggrandizing Weblog sounds like something you’d like in your life, then let it be so.

Also next week, alert the presses!! Because Super Deluxe is weighing in on this whole “snitching” thing. Comedy By The Numbers is debuting a special anti-snitching video aimed at squashing all of these crazy beefs in the comedy world.

And after much ado, rapper Killer Mike’s new series will premiere. It’s called Killer Mike’s Grind Time Sports Show Bang! Bang! Bang!, but pretty much any issue in black culture is open for discussion. Like “snitching.” That’s the hot topic in the first episode. And might we say, we’re particularly proud of this new series because it’s an in-house production brought to life by our very own Daniel and Nick Weidenfeld.

So, stop snitching!!

Watch & Listen: Bearforce1

What’s that? Do we detect an ever-so-faint blip on our gaydar? Is that an ever-so-slight tremor in our gaytrix? Yes, yes. There it is. Something pulsing. Something throbbing. Just below our beltline. Can’t quite make it out, but it sounds…like…house music. And it seems to be coming from these robust, young gentlemen…

Bearforce1? What is that all about? Do they have something to do with training animals to fly airplanes?

Elvis Is Still Dead Today

We’ve given you Hard ‘N’ Phirm’s MP3, “Death Of The King.” We’ve given you their tribute cartoon sing-along on today’s homepage. What more do you want? How about an infamous clip of 70’s-era Elvis all hopped up on painkillers, flubbing the talking part on “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” (complete with an Ebaum’s World watermark)?

And for good measure, here’s the official recipe for the King’s favorite menu item.

Official Guilt

In case you couldn’t be bothered during your morning Pilates routine, let us be the first ones to inform you that former NBA referee Tim Donaghy just pleaded guilty to charges that he bet on games he officiated. Not that we can blame him. As boring as professional basketball has become, wouldn’t you start placing odds in your off-time?

Anyways, we’re way ahead of the scandal’s curve here at Super Deluxe. Today, we have not one, but two videos all about poor ol’ Tim.

Here’s Jim Florentine and Jim Norton’s take on the whole shit-storm in today’s Good Side of Bad News:

And here’s Fark TV’s excellent Scorsese-inspired send-up. It’s called “Goodfoulers.”

Hard ‘N Phirm Song For Dead Elvis!

Hard to believe that–come tomorrow–30 years will have passed since the King took care of his final bit of business. Word is some 50,000 fans will be gathering at Graceland tonight for a candlelight vigil to commemorate big E’s last day on the throne.

elvis-throne.png

Now, we’re never ones to miss out on a good cry. But in case you can’t make it to Tennessee, we’ve got just the thing to help get your mourn on: a free Hard ‘N Phirm MP3 called “Death Of The King!”

The comedy/musical duo are making their Super Deluxe debut tomorrow with a video by the same name. We don’t want to give too much away, but it’s supposed to be an animated children’s program aimed at edumacating all the youngins about the “inner workings” of the King’s downfall (thus, these little bacteria-eating worms looking “all shook up.”)

So, without further ado, we give you Hard ‘N Phirm’s “Death Of The King” (right click and select “save as” to download).

Technological Tuesday

More cartoons like this here.

Also, if your thumbs are too big to use an iPhone, try jamming them up your butt instead of becoming this guy.

And can someone place an Ebay bid on one of these things while I try to get “clear?”

A Friend Of Waco & Roger’s…

…is a friend of ours. And since it’s Monday, and nobody really feels like working, let us just daydream for a little bit about the time we first fell in love with the Athens, Georgia resident known as “The Funky Chicken.”

Fingerboard Friday

Another end of the week, another sick set of switch-stance fakie finger ollies.
